Labor Day Weekend

Had a great Labor Day weekend. We went to Wareham and stayed with Nanny and Papa, as Auntie Karen, Uncle Mike, and cousin Elsie were in town. It started off a little rocky when we tried to get pictures of the three kids at the JC Penney Portrait Studio. It took a very long time during which Theo fell and got a bit of a fat lip, Elsie could not be torn away from her fruit snacks, and Owen just sat, smiled, and played with a fake flower they gave him. Got one or two shots, but the overall experience drained us all. Once that was out of the way, it was great to see Elsie, Theo, and Owen play together. They (well, Elsie and Theo) loved going in and out of the house and chasing each other around.

We came home Sunday night so we could get the kids (and ourselves) settled for school on Tuesday. We took a little trip to Tangerini's to walk around and see the sunflowers that are in bloom (as you can see in the pictures), but mostly got ourselves ready for the week ahead. They both did great at school all week. They've been playing hard. Owen has been crawling like crazy all day long (he started his first day at daycare!), and Theo is busy with Emma and Lucia. They are completely exhausted when they come home. Owen fell asleep by 6:15 the first two nights (once in his high chair during dinner and once in his jumperoo), and Theo has been asleep without a fuss by 7:30 (although they have been waking up before 6 every morning...). This is helpful because Mark and I have been exhausted, too. School the first couple of weeks is crazy, and then coming home and making time to play, cook dinner, give baths, make lunches, and somehow clean is keeping us busy. I'm guessing we'll get back into a routine soon. But for now, we're just happy that they are happy.
