It was Theo's party yesterday. What a day! It has been such a beautiful September, we thought for sure we'd have great weather for the party at Tangerini's farm. No such luck- tropical storm 'kyle' decided to join us. I was VERY worried that we would have 12 toddlers running around a greenhouse with nothing to do, so I ran to I-Party on friday to get last minute things to do: stickers, crayons, tattoos, light sticks, a pinata. But we actually needed none of it. The kids were great. There was a chicken hanging out in the greenhouse with us, and tons of gourds and pumpkins. Those things alone could have amused the kids for the entire time. We decided to go for the hayride and pumpkin picking. Just as we were crammed on to the hayride, the sky let loose and we were all totally soaked, but the kids couldn't have cared less (not even sure they noticed!). They were so good on the hayride and, of course, took their time in the pumpkin patch (thankfully, all of the adults had a great sense of humor). We came back and painted the pumpkins, had cake, and destroyed the cute pig pinata (well, Mark had to destroy it, as it was a tough little pig...). We all wound up having a great time, especially Theo. He was all wound up last night- excited about the party, but eventually crashed (and so did we). He never seemed to realize that all of the presents we brought into the house were his. He asked me to move them so he could draw. We're thinking we'll do one a day for a little while. Anyway, great party. Wish we could do the farm one again (maybe we will..). I do know that I love having the party somewhere that isn't our house. Slightly less stressful (although it was more work than I thought- just because of my fear of toddlers screaming with nothing to do), and definitely less work. Thanks to everyone for braving the weather and celebrating with us!
