Columbus Day Weekend

Not too much to report on here. We had a really nice weekend. On Thursday, Mark and I had the day off, so we left the boys with my parents and drove up to Squam Lake in NH and had a really nice, relaxing day. It was beautiful up there. This weekend, we spent a lot of time with the family. Saturday was the Cranberry Festival in Wareham, so we were up there for the day. Theo had a great time- he rode the train with Papa, got to see some tractors, almost rode a pony (until he decided that he'd rather not), and got a giant balloon shaped into a sword (possibly his favorite thing from the day). He also spent a lot of time playing with Mark's Aunt Mary who was visiting from Texas. It was very nice to see her.
Sunday we went to Lexington. Theo went to the farm to get apples with my dad and sister. He wound up getting doughnuts and caramel apples and was on a sugar high most of the day. At least he got some apple in him. Owen got his first taste of pasta with sauce and devoured the bowl. He is going to eat us out of the house when he's bigger.
Speaking of Owen, he had his 9 month apt at the doctors this week. He weighs in at just about 22 pounds, and is 29 inches long. Dr. Kennon (who we love) said we should start more of the finger foods (which always petrifies me. I'm always moments away from ripping him out of his chair in case of choking), but since then we have done some broccoli pieces (as you can see in the pic), chicken, pasta, crackers, and he is LOVING it. The only problem is that he tries to shove everything in his mouth at once. And he grunts like a monster as he is eating it. It's really very cute.
